Helen Bradford of Capire

Helen is a business writer, accredited editor and accredited executive coach with an

international development background. For over 25 years she managed development

programmes in Africa, Southeast Asia, the Pacific and New Zealand for NGOs, UN

agencies and the New Zealand Government.

Helen owns and manages the New Zealand writing consultancy Capire. She specialises in using plain language and presenting complex ideas and information clearly, succinctly and accurately. Helen understands what ministers, governance boards, donors, managers, staff, clients and the public need from the documents they are given. She works with government departments and NGOs to write documents and web content that their readers can easily understand and use.

To every writing and editing project Helen brings:

  • experience working with governments and non-profit organisations

  • experience managing large programmes, projects and budgets

  • experience preparing and assessing funding proposals

  • experience managing teams

  • experience working with people around the world.

When she’s not writing, you’ll find Helen running or riding the Wellington trails. She’s a

keen endurance athlete and has represented New Zealand in triathlon and Ironman

races overseas.
