A Year of Connection, Impact, and Partnership at Take My Hands

2025 has been a year of remarkable movement, not just in shipping containers, but in generosity, collaboration, and the shared desire to ensure communities have access to the essential equipment they need.

Take My Hands' mission has always been simple: connect those who have, with those who need, in ways that are smart, sustainable, and human-centred. This year, that mission has flowed across oceans and deep into our own backyard.

From Aotearoa to Pakistan

Earlier this year, Take My Hands shipped a 20-foot container of medical and mobility equipment to Pakistan, supporting hospitals and disability services with high-quality resources that would otherwise have gone to landfill. This container now underpins life-changing care for hundreds of people, and it was made possible entirely through donated items, volunteer effort, and the generosity of partners.

Supporting whānau across Te Tai Tokerau

Closer to home, they've been working alongside NorthAble, health providers, schools, and community organisations across Northland to ensure whānau have access to the mobility, medical, and daily-living equipment they need. From wheelchairs to walkers, hospital beds to paediatric supports, every item tells a story of a family better able to live, heal, and thrive.

Containers on the move – Tonga and Niue

Right now, two more 20-foot containers are underway: one bound for Tonga to support rehabilitation services and aged care, and another preparing to leave for Niue, carrying critical equipment for clinics, hospitals, and community health services. These partnerships reflect the power of connection across the Pacific and a shared commitment to lifting the wellbeing of communities through sustainable resource redistribution.

None of this happens alone

The truth is simple: their work is only possible because of the partners who choose to walk alongside Take My Hands. Every organisation that donates equipment, every funder that supports shipping costs, every logistics partner who helps Take My Hands move containers affordably – each one plays a vital role in this impact.

Your support reduces waste, diverts tonnes of equipment from landfill, increases access to healthcare equipment in under-resourced communities, strengthens whānau resilience and independence, and builds lasting, purpose-driven relationships across Aotearoa and the Pacific.

From Take My Hands:

To our current partners: thank you for your trust, collaboration, and belief in what we can achieve together.

To future partners: there is so much more we can do, and we would love to explore how we can work with you to create meaningful, measurable, and sustainable impact.

Together, we turn surplus into support. Together, we move communities forward.
